Libraries Overview

A Library is an institution where information is acquired, processed, stored, and disseminated for present and future use. The catalogue is a key to the library, and with the help of catalogue, users can access the information and satisfy their informational need.

Librarians work hard to meet the users' needs and start changing the scenario of serving the users by reaching their doorstep to serve them effectively. Presently libraries are using the social media platform to attract the users, and they also start converting traditional libraries to modern libraries.

Libraries started the digitization projects so the information can be accessed effectively. After digitization, digital libraries can also provide remote access to their users so they can access information even by sitting at their homes.

All the Public, Academic, and Special Libraries of Jammu are as beautiful as beauty of the Jammu. Maximum Libraries of Jammu started the digitization process, so Jammu's heritage knowledge is organized, preserved, and disseminated for future and present use. Jammu libraries continuously make an effort to serve their users/patrons in a better way. 

Libraries in Jammu and Kashmir have a unique collection, and most of the libraries are heritage libraries. Most of the libraries in Jammu started improving their library services. They conduct various kinds of programs in libraries like book exhibitions, competitions, awareness programs, etc. Heritage libraries of Jammu start archiving their library collection of manuscripts in a unique and organized manner. They also start conducting certain programs in the library every year to show the unique and very useful manuscripts in the library to the users.

जम्मू के सभी सार्वजनिक, शैक्षणिक और विशेष पुस्तकालय विरासत की सुंदरता के समान सुंदर हैं। जम्मू के अधिकतम पुस्तकालयों ने डिजिटलीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू की है ताकि जम्मू के विरासत ज्ञान को भविष्य और वर्तमान उपयोग के लिए व्यवस्थित, संरक्षित और प्रसारित किया जा सके । जम्मू के पुस्तकालय लगातार अपने उपयोगकर्ताओं / संरक्षकों की बेहतर तरीके से सेवा करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।

पुस्तकालय एक ऐसी संस्था है जहाँ वर्तमान और भविष्य के उपयोग के लिए सूचना का अधिग्रहण, प्रसंस्करण, भंडारण और प्रसार किया जाता है। कैटलॉग लाइब्रेरी की एक कुंजी है, और कैटलॉग की मदद से, उपयोगकर्ता लाइब्रेरी में उपलब्ध जानकारी तक पहुंच सकते हैं और अपनी सूचना संबंधी आवश्यकताओं को पूरा कर सकते हैं।

लाइब्रेरियन सीमित समय में उपयोगकर्ताओं की जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत कर रहे हैं। वर्तमान में पुस्तकालय उपयोगकर्ताओं को आकर्षित करने के लिए सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म का उपयोग कर रहे हैं, और वे अपने पारंपरिक पुस्तकालयों को आधुनिक पुस्तकालयों में परिवर्तित करना भी शुरू कर रहे हैं ।

पुस्तकालयों ने डिजिटलीकरण परियोजनाओं को शुरू किया है ताकि जानकारी को प्रभावी ढंग से एक्सेस किया जा सके। सूचना के डिजिटलीकरण के बाद, डिजिटल पुस्तकालय अपने उपयोगकर्ताओं को दूरस्थ पहुंच प्रदान कर सकते हैं ताकि वे अपने घरों पर बैठकर भी इसका उपयोग कर सकें।

जम्मू और कश्मीर में पुस्तकालयों का एक अनूठा संग्रह है, और अधिकांश पुस्तकालय जम्मू प्रांत में विरासत पुस्तकालय हैं। जम्मू के अधिकांश पुस्तकालयों ने अपनी पुस्तकालय सेवाओं में सुधार करना शुरू कर दिया है। जम्मू के पुस्तकालय पुस्तकालयों में विभिन्न प्रकार के कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करते हैं जैसे पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी, प्रतियोगिताओं, और अपने पुस्तकालय उपयोगकर्ताओं से मिलने के लिए प्रसिद्ध लेखकों और प्रकाशकों को आमंत्रित करना, जागरूकता कार्यक्रम करना, आदि। जम्मू के हेरिटेज पुस्तकालय अपने पुस्तकालय के पांडुलिपियों को एक अनोखे और संगठित तरीके से संरक्षित करते हैं। वे उपयोगकर्ताओं को पुस्तकालय की अनूठी और बहुत उपयोगी पांडुलिपियों को दिखाने के लिए हर साल पुस्तकालय में कुछ कार्यक्रम आयोजित करते हैं।
