Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Unversity(BGSBU), Jammu, has come into existence by an Act named J&K Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Act No. XVI of 2002.
The campus of the BGSBU located in Rajouri and the objective of BGSBU is to impart quality education and undertake research work.
"About the Library":
*The Central Library of BGSBU works under the Library Advisory Committee. The Library of BGSBU divides into 12 sections: Acquisition, Classification, Cataloguing, Periodical, Reference, Internet Lab, and Information Services, Newspapers and Magazines, Digital Documents Section, Dissertations, and Thesis Section.
*The Central Library of the BGSBU functions in a decentralized manner to facilities all the library users in their respective departments. The Central Library of BGSBU, along with other departmental libraries, maintains nearby 45,000 documents, which classified as per DDC.
*Central Library of BGSBU equipped with all modern facilities to satisfy the information need of the users.
*Central Library of BGSBU also has a separate book-bank in the library block to cater to the downtrodden students' information needs and those belonging to the socially disadvantaged sections of the society. With this facility, the students from the poor, underprivileged, and humble family backgrounds will be issued books for a full semester.
*The Central Library of BGSBU registered as an institutional member of the DELNET-a network of 6000+ member libraries worldwide. The database of BGSBU's Library is available on the IndCat.
The Central Library, BGSBU, is an institutional member of the INFLIBNET. Central Library BGSBU signed MoU with the INFLIBNET, so the Central Library has uploaded the soft copy of all the doctoral thesis on the Shodhganga within the 30 days of the award of the degree.
The Central Library of BGSBU has become an institutional member of the NDLI.
The Central Library of BGSBU maintains a complete database of library collection on SOUL and KOHA software installed for automating library services and activities.

बाबा गुलाम शाह बादशाह यूनवर्सिटी (BGSBU), जम्मू 2002 के जम्मू-कश्मीर बाबा गुलाम शाह बादशाह विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम नंबर XVI नामक एक अधिनियम द्वारा अस्तित्व में आया है।

* BGSBU का केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय सलाहकार समिति के तहत काम करता है। बीजीएसबीयू की लाइब्रेरी 12 खंडों में विभाजित होती है: अधिग्रहण, वर्गीकरण, कैटलॉगिंग, आवधिक, संदर्भ, इंटरनेट लैब, और सूचना सेवा, समाचार पत्र और पत्रिकाएं, डिजिटल दस्तावेज अनुभाग, शोध प्रबंध और शोध खंड।
* बीजीएसबीयू का केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय अपने सभी विभागों में सभी पुस्तकालय उपयोगकर्ताओं की सुविधा के लिए विकेंद्रीकृत तरीके से कार्य करता है। बीजीएसबीयू के केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय, अन्य विभागीय पुस्तकालयों के साथ, 45,000 दस्तावेजों को बनाए रखता है, जो डीडीसी के अनुसार वर्गीकृत किया गया है।

* BGSBU की सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी ने DELNET के संस्थागत सदस्य के रूप में पंजीकृत किया, जो दुनिया भर में 6000+ सदस्य पुस्तकालयों का एक नेटवर्क है। BGSBU की लाइब्रेरी का डेटाबेस IndCat पर उपलब्ध है।
सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी, BGSBU, INFLIBNET का एक संस्थागत सदस्य है। सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी BGSBU ने INFLIBNET के साथ MoU पर हस्ताक्षर किए, इसलिए सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी ने डिग्री के पुरस्कार के 30 दिनों के भीतर शोघगंगा पर सभी डॉक्टरेट थीसिस की सॉफ्ट कॉपी अपलोड की है।
BGSBU का केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय NDLI का एक संस्थागत सदस्य बन गया है।
