Amar Mahal Museum
The Amar Mahal Palace is in Jammu, and it's now converted into a Museum. It was built in the 19th century for Raja Amar Singh, a Dogra king by a French architect. Dr Karan Singh transferred the palace property to a trust named as the "Hari-Tara Charitable Trust. A palace has a golden throne weighing 120 kg. Amar museum has Pahari and Kangra miniature paintings. A private chamber is present in the Amar Mahal Museum, which is of the Maharani Tara Devi. This closed chamber is conserved and exhibited in its original form where Maharani Tara Devi dresses, cutlery collection, music system, the silver bed of her time are archived.

"ABOUT LIBRARY"
The library of Amar Mahal situated in Hari Niwas and the river Tawi flows along, and it evokes the glory of Dogra Kingdom. The Palace converts into a museum and library. Amar Mahal Museum's library has a collection of nearby 25,000 unique books and many rare art collections. The museum hall forms the major part of the building of Amar Mahal. It is the best place for art lovers, scholars and historians.
A golden throne draws the attention of the tourists at large. The museum walls are full of unique and beautiful Pahari miniature, Basohli miniature paintings, and Kangra paintings with a work of real gold and silver.
The library section houses have a rare collection of books ranging from religion, fiction, and philosophy to political science. Dr Karan Singh collected most of the books over the last 50 years. Some rare volumes take from the library of Raja Amar Singh.
The location of the library is on the second floor of the museum.

हरि निवास में स्थित अमर महल का पुस्तकालय है । पैलेस एक संग्रहालय और पुस्तकालय में परिवर्तित किया गया है। अमर महल संग्रहालय की लाइब्रेरी के पास 25,000 अद्वितीय पुस्तकें और कई दुर्लभ कला संग्रह हैं। संग्रहालय हॉल अमर महल की इमारत का प्रमुख हिस्सा है। यह कला प्रेमियों, विद्वानों और इतिहासकारों के लिए सबसे अच्छी जगह है।
एक स्वर्ण सिंहासन पर्यटकों का ध्यान बड़े पैमाने पर खींचता है। संग्रहालय की दीवारें अद्वितीय और सुंदर पहाड़ी लघु, बसोहली लघु चित्रों और कांगड़ा चित्रों से भरी हैं जिनमें असली सोने और चांदी का कार्य् है।
पुस्तकालय अनुभाग में धर्म कथा और दर्शन से लेकर राजनीति विज्ञान तक की पुस्तकों का दुर्लभ संग्रह है। डॉ कर्ण सिंह ने पिछले 50 वर्षों में अधिकांश पुस्तकों का संग्रह किया है । पुस्तकालय का स्थान संग्रहालय की दूसरी मंजिल पर है।
